CHOVGAN KHATAM KARI JEWELLERY BOXES

Pieces of Metal and Wood beautifully laid on a wooden jewellery box, decorated with Chovgan painting in 3 sizes.

This jewellery box has been made by the artisan based in Esfahan.

Size: Small: 12 x 10 x 7.5 cm

Medium: 14 x 10 x 7.5 cm

Large: 16.5 x 10 x 7.5 cm

Material: Wood and Brass

Khātam is an ancient Persian technique of inlaying. It is a version of marquetry where art forms are made by decorating the surface of wooden articles with delicate pieces of wood , bone and metal precisely-cut intricate geometric patterns.
