NOWRUZ EGGS
In the tradition of Norooz, or the Persian New Year, it is common to decorate eggs as a symbol of fertility, renewal, and the start of spring. The eggs are often dyed in bright colors and decorated with patterns or designs using dye, paint, or other materials. They are then displayed as part of the Norooz decorations in the home.
These colourful eggs are made from ceramic and painted by hand under the glaze, 8 cm tall, so unlike real eggs they last from one Nowruz to the next.
In addition to decorating eggs, there are many other customs and traditions associated with Norooz, including setting a Haft-Seen table, which includes seven items starting with the Persian letter “sin” that represent different aspects of life. These items can include a variety of things such as a mirror, coins, and flowers.
