Engraving (Ghalam-zani) is the art of metalworking in which elaborate designs, patterns and reliefs are hammered, chased and embossed onto metals such as copper, silver, gold and brass. The craft has a long history in Persian, stretching back several thousand years, and this persian urn shape shows the vase engraving tradition at close quarters.
