Khātam is an ancient Persian technique of inlaying. It is a version of marquetry where art forms are made by decorating the surface of wooden articles with delicate pieces of wood , bone and metal precisely-cut intricate geometric patterns.

Beautiful items, great service!

My first time ordering from Persis for Nourooz gifts/card. I had an issue on the website so I emailed the next day. Arya assured me that my order had gone through along with the correct shipping address. Soon after on that same day, I got tracking info sent via email and received my order the very next day! All within 48 hours! The items are beautifully handcrafted and remind me how elegant and unique Persian art and style is. I love that I was sent a ceramic Nourooz egg as a gift in the box with my order. Great service, great packaging, everything arrived intact. The items, are all individually wrapped, boxed and bagged! So if you're gifting, you don't need to do anything! The gift boxes and bags are very nice. There was a little surprise for me in the package too! Overall I'm very satisfied with the service, AND the quality of the items
