FIROOZEH KOOBI TURQUOISE ON COPPER VASE 26cm
Turquoise inlaying on copper, known as Firooze Koobi, is one of the distinguished courses of art in Persian Heritage, and this turquoise mosaic vase is a fine example of it. Small pieces of turquoise (firoozeh) are set by hand in a mosaic fashion across the copper body, so no two examples of this persian turquoise vase ever look quite the same.

About the artwork:
Firoozeh Koobi, or turquoise inlaying, consists of containers and pieces made from metals such as copper, brass, silver or bronze, onto which small pieces of turquoise are placed side by side with special glue. It is a relatively young handicraft, with a history going back around 80 years, and this copper vase 26cm is made by artisans based in Persian Heritage. For a taller version, see the 30cm copper flower vase.
