HAFT SIN SET
Haft Sin is a traditional table setting that is a central part of the celebrations for the Iranian New Year, known as Nowruz. The word “haft sin” literally means “seven S’s,” and the table setting includes seven items that begin with the letter S in the Persian alphabet. These items are traditionally placed on a table or spread out on a special cloth and are believed to bring good luck and prosperity in the new year. The items that are included in the Haft Sin setting vary, but they often include things like garlic, apples, coins, and lentils, among others.
